Qualification:  Professionally trained as a doctor, but being an artist is her choice.

She is self-taught, believes in experimentation and instinctive approach to making art pieces. Having made the choice to become a doctor over an artist, decades ago, she now explores the meaning of art and creation at ‘Magical Melts’ her studio. 8 years ago Manjiri started as an artist, when she was introduced to the ancient art form ‘Encaustic’. She has displayed her works and has found recognition at the All India Contemporary Women Artists forum.

ENCAUSTIC ART literally means BURNING IN. This is an ancient Greek technique of painting done with Beeswax. Use of heated tools like an iron, hot air, gas torch, is required in creating different textures and blends which makes this form of art unique. This art, works on wood, canvas and paper, with each of the ground contributing to the individuality of the painting
