Pradip Kumar Sikdar is a contemporary visual artist whose work bridges cultural memory, calligraphic rhythm, and personal introspection. A graduate of the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata (1990), he went on to participate in several group shows and hold solo exhibitions in both Calcutta and Delhi. In 2001, he moved to Singapore, where he rediscovered his passion for drawing, finding solace and renewed self-expression in painting. Influenced by Chinese painting and the art of calligraphy, he often incorporates these visual sensibilities into Bengali script, allowing the graceful flow of the letters to merge with gestural mark-making. Mr Sikdar’s paintings move between the figurative and the symbolic, carrying traces of personal nostalgia, poetic rhythm, and the quiet beauty of handwritten script.
