Simi Nallaseth’s artistic journey has been playing with various mediums. From paintings and illustrations to animated films, storytelling and graphic novels, Simi has always searched for the flash of truth, that pure, inner vision that the divine whispers in every soul. This search for original truth and meaning has been Simi’s guiding principle and always will be.

An artist and animation film maker, Simi has animated for the Oscar nominated Ice Age I (Blue Sky Studios, New York). In New York, she also animated for several films, ad films and station ids. In India, she directed ad films for well-known brands and designed and directed music videos for India’s leading performing artists Shiamak Davar, Ashutosh Phatak and Dhruv Ghanekar. Simi co-conceived a

rock opera I with Ashutosh Phatak and has co-written a fantasy feature film Dream Blanket (with Shaiontoni Bose, Zachary Coffin and Dinesh Kapoor). Her short film Spotted Puppets was acquired by Canal Plus and TVOntario. Her MTV short film A House of Cards (co-director Mike De Seve) won 2nd prize at the Cardiff Animation Festival and was screened at the Ottawa and Hiroshima Animation

Festivals. Simi’s short film Diabolic Wife won many awards, was acquired by Channel 4 and Canal Plus and was screened at several international animation festivals, the Virginia Museum of Art and the Donnell Media Center in New York. In Usa, her work has been published in Adweek, Pixel and Computer Graphics World and in India, in the DNA, Mumbai Mirror, and Animation Express.

For Teach for India’s musicals Princess Maya, Simi taught art to children and designed costumes and masks. For their latest musical

Conference of the Birds, she designed costumes and sets. In May 2023, Simi taught a creative story workshop in Bhutan for the De-suung skilling program. In 2024, she created a graphic novel Dream Blanket in collaboration with iBEST studios in Bhutan. The graphic novel has been selected for Bhutan Echoes 2025, Bhutan’s Arts and Literature festival. In January 2025, Simi participated in a

group art exhibition “Shubh Arambh” curated by Sourabh Mazumdar and Pankaj Nigam, in India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
