Tirthankar Biswas, born in 1957 in West Bengal, is a distinguished Delhi-based artist celebrated for his semi-realistic and contemporary style. A graduate of the Government College of Art & Cra􀅌, Kolkata, he earned Diplomas in Fine Arts (1980) and Sculpture (1982). Over the past four decades, he has participated in more than 150 exhibitions, including La Biennale di Venezia, Lalit Kala Akademi, the Ulaanbaatar exhibition, and the Osten Biennial of Drawing in Macedonia. He has also presented over 40 solo and duo shows across India and abroad.

Working in diverse media such as oil, acrylic, ink, soot and conte, Mr. Biswas explores human emotion, movement, and the vibrancy of life. His themes span figurative, semi-figurative, semi-realistic, semi-abstract, and mythological narratives. His works are part of several public and private collections worldwide, including the Himachal State Museum, Shimla.
