Reena Singh, born in 1974 in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, is a Delhi-based abstract visual artist. She completed her MFA in Painting from the Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU Varanasi, in 2000.
Reena’s artworks draw on the rhythm, texture, and movement of urban life, particularly the narrow lanes, ghat scenes, and crowded streets of Indian cities, using them as a rich visual vocabulary. Through vibrant colours and rhythmic brushstrokes, she reconstructs city forms and human interaction in an abstracted manner.
Her works are part of several notable private and institutional collections across India and abroad, including NASA (USA), Italy, London, Mauritius, Spain (Barcelona), and Germany. She has received the Senior Fellowship in Painting (CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India), a Research Grant in Painting (Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow), and a Scholarship in Painting (Dept. of Culture, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India).
