Most of my paintings are collages on paper and canvas. Mostly I use Acrylic colours. I wanted to be an architect, and I spent 25 years around the architecture of Chandigarh. I was so impressed by their style of Architecture. The kind of things I saw on the roads. It’s the everyday subjects that inspire me. Whatever I see in the newspapers, I cut and paste here. I want more to happen and less to create. I want to intervene less in my painting. In this particular painting, there are clothes pasted and things written like ATM. I think that is more important now than a temple. We go to an ATM more than a temple. And then there is Noida and Delhi, Sales and Malls. It’s everyday life in my painting. I write real things, which are not in the news but in our subconscious. I think ATM is my favourite.
